A simple birth-details checklist for NRI families
Prepare the right person's birth date, time, country, state and city once, without mixing account-holder and family-member details.

The short answer: Keep birth information and current location separate, and ask permission before adding a relative's details.
1. Make one small record for each person
Write the person's full name as you want it on the report. Keep their birth date, time and birthplace together. For families, use a separate profile for each person and check the selected name before preparing a Granth. Do not leave your own details selected while changing only the question for a friend.
Record the date with the month written out while checking documents. This avoids mixing day/month and month/day conventions. Enter the app's date field carefully, then read the confirmation summary. An incorrect date cannot be fixed by a more detailed interpretation.
2. Enter the birthplace, then the present home
Choose the country, state or province and city of birth. Names such as Springfield or Salem occur in more than one region, so a city name alone may be ambiguous. If the exact city cannot be found, stop and ask for help rather than selecting a familiar but different city.
Enter where the person lives now separately. Current location helps with local calendars and present-day timing displays; it should not silently become their birthplace. Historical clock conversion should use the birth location and date, not the clock offset on your phone today.
3. Save thoughtfully, not endlessly
A signed-in account makes reuse easier, but collecting more sensitive detail is not automatically helpful. Share the information needed for the chosen report and one clear concern. Leave out identity-document numbers, passwords, payment details and private information unrelated to the request.
If you add a family profile in your own account, you can access it. Ask the person first. If they prefer independent privacy, send an invitation so they can use their own account. Read the storage period shown for a report and keep a downloaded copy if you want it beyond that period.
